Your email signature is a direct representation of the university’s viewpoint. Follow UT branding guidelines for font and color size.

Poster and Signage Printing

UT Austin's Document Solutions has the ability to print research posters, signage, etc. and will allow members of the UT community to charge directly to a UT account.

Poster Design Guidelines

These poster design guidelines have been developed specifically for students who are creating research posters for department events such as the External Advisory Committee meeting. Please be sure to follow the Cockrell School visual guidelines, including suggested fonts, UT color palette and the official ASE/EM wordmark.

UT Office of Trademark Licensing

Use of the official UT Austin wordmark, the UT Tower, The UT Austin seal, Bevo and other UT supporting marks MUST be approved through the Office of Trademark Licensing. View a list of supporting marks.

Use the Internal Campus Request Portal to submit requests for use of these marks and find a list of UT approved vendors.

Student Organizations must submit all designs through Trademarks here regardless of whether they contain protected wordmarks or logos. Be sure to select Cockrell School of Engineering as your Campus/Department/School/Division.

Size

27” x 39” in portrait layout NOTE: It is especially important to adhere to the size specifications for uniformity and consistency if you are developing this poster for the department-hosted graduate recruiting event.

Format 

Print-ready PDF (export to highest resolution available)

Background/Margin

White is recommended for the background.  Be sure to include a margin/border of at least 1" on all sides of your poster.

Images

Use the highest resolution possible for all images. 300 dpi is preferred, or eps/vector images work well too since they are scalable.

Fonts

The Cockrell School of Engineering follows The University of Texas at Austin's font recommendations.

Benton Sans/Benton Sans Condensed is the preferred primary font. GT Sectra is a secondary font. Both typefaces are available worldwide in PC and Apple formats. Arial is also acceptable for posters.

Colors

It’s okay to have a variety of colors in the posters. For suggestions on colors to use in sidebars, charts, graphs, follow UT’s official color palette here. 

ASE/EM Logos

Please be sure to follow the brand guidelines when using the official ASE/EM identities.
