Computational Engineering

Coppell, TX

What aspect of computational engineering interests you most?

For me, the programming aspect of computational engineering interests me more than anything. I actually transferred from a mechanical engineering degree plan because I saw COE as an opportunity to utilize my engineering abilities in a computer-based way.

What has been your favorite computationally based project?

In Intro to Scientific Programming, our final project was to model the spread of a disease. It was difficult at first, but once the program ran, there were so many ways I saw to improve it. We not only got to explore how a disease might spread, but how computer programs are made more realistic and accurate.

What are some things you really enjoy about living in Austin, TX?

Austin has so much to offer when it comes to outdoor activities. From the paddle boarding to Barton Springs, there is never a 'dry' weekend. Moving to a big city usually means that you give up outdoor fun, but Austin is incredible.

List three things that most people don't know about you.

  • I can solve a Rubik's cube.
  • I don't have a favorite color.
  • I played piano when I was 10.
