Thomas HughesASE/EM Professor Thomas J.R. Hughes has received the 2014 International Scientific Career Award of the Argentinian Association for Computational Mechanics (AMCA). AMCA will make the presentation at the Pan American Congress on Computational Mechanics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, April 28, 2015.

The award recognizes an international scientific career in the field of computational mechanics and interaction with research centers of Argentina. The AMCA Award consists of a statuette made by an Argentine artisan and a diploma.

Hughes holds the Peter O'Donnell, Jr. Chair in Computational and Applied Mathematics and is the leader of the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) Computational Mechanics Group.
