Prof. Noel Clemens As the fall semester comes to a close, the ASE/EM Department extends warm wishes to you and your family this holiday season. Student Project Updates - LRA and WIALD

LRA The Longhorn Rocket Association (LRA) is working toward increasing its number of launches by certifying some if its members and plans to enter a national competition this spring, while the Women in Engineering for Leadership Development (WIALD) team is working on a BalloonSat project that will assist in the development of a new hands-on project for the Introduction to Aerospace course.

Preparing for a Return to the Moon

PhD candidate Aaron Morris and his faculty advisors, Professors David Goldstein and Philip Varghese are working on a project that should ensure a much safer landing when astronauts return to the Moon. continue reading

Simulating New Treatment for Heart Disease

Professor Thomas Hughes and his research team simulate a new treatment for the most common cause of heart attacks and develop an instructional video on how to do it with the aid of the Texas Advanced Computing Center and the Faculty Innovation Center. continue reading

Innovating Water and Energy Solutions in Ghana

Aerospace engineering senior Kristina Baltazar put her engineering and leadership skills to good use when she became the project manager on a team that designed a water system to bring filtered, potable water to the people of Patriensa, Ghana. continue reading
