Many of our faculty research groups offer undergraduate research opportunities. Contact the appropriate faculty member below for more information. Autonomous GN&C Group
The Autonomous GN&C group develops onboard guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) algorithms to control autonomous vehicles (spacecraft, aircraft etc). The group is currently developing the next generation advanced Mars landing GN&C algorithms in collaboration with NASA JPL. Contact: Asst. Professor Behcet Acikmese Flowfield Imaging Lab / High-Speed Wind Tunnel LabIn our laboratories we study complex turbulent flows that are relevant to aerospace and energy applications. Our main research focus is on high-speed (supersonic and hypersonic) flows and combustion. Our current projects include: plasma-control of shock-induced boundary layer separation, supersonic inlet control, supersonic combustion for scramjets, flashback in hydrogen swirl flames (related to gas-turbine power generation) and soot production with alternative jet fuels. All of our work is experimental and makes use of laser-based measurement techniques. Contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
