Drones: Myths, Facts, Hacks and the Future

Friday, November 21, 2014
7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

WEL 2.224

Drones have been all over the media and in our imaginations. What's real and what's possible for these remarkable flying machines? Todd Humphreys will consider the ways drones can be used in the future versus what is portrayed in the movies. He will also show us how his team was the first to successfully demonstrate that drones could be commandeered by GPS hacking.

This Hot Science - Cool Talks lecture will be presented live on the campus of UT-Austin at Welch Hall in Auditorium 2.224 (WEL 2.224) from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM Central. As always, our event will be free and open to the general public.

The Interactive Fair will also be at Welch (WEL), in the Grand Hall from 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM Central. Engage with engineers and scientists who study radionavigation, build autonomous vehicles, and perform experiments with them!

Can't join us in person? Tune into our live webcast and ask Dr. Humphreys questions in real-time! For more information on upcoming or past talks, visit www.hotsciencecooltalks.org.
