Fluids Seminar - Inlets & Exhaust Systems - Aero Systems

Steve Ettorre, Manager, GE Aviation

Abstract. Mr. Ettorre will present an overview of the GE corporation and focus on the mission of GE Aviation, both commercial and military. Recent business highlights will be reviewed. Emphasis will be given to the vital role of technology within GE and GE Aviation in particular. Mr. Ettorre will review the scope of work for his current team at GE and share his observations for achieving a success as an engineer in industry.

Bio. Mr. Ettorre has over 30 years of industrial experience in the areas of acoustics, CFD development and aero design. He has worked for Boeing, Lockheed Martin and General Electric. Mr. Ettorre has engineering degrees from Penn State University and an Industrial Administration degree from Union College. He currently manages the aero group at GE Aviation for military inlets and exhaust systems. The group has a diverse scope including supersonic nozzles, combustion aero for afterburning systems, subsonic inlets, internal engine (non-core) flowpath design and military acoustics.
