FLOWFIELD IMAGING LAB (FIL)
The Flowfield Imaging Laboratory is dedicated to research and teaching in the primary areas of turbulent mixing/combustion and high speed shear flows. Our work emphasizes the use of laser diagnostics, particularly planar techniques such as planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) and particle image velocimetry (PIV).

ADVANCED COMPUTATIONAL ENGINEERING LAB (ACE)
The Advanced Computational Engineering Lab focuses on teaching and research in the area of engineering computation. The main objective is the development and application of numerical methods on advanced computing systems for engineering applications. The research topics include computational grid generation, turbulent finite volume flow solvers, adaptive grid generation techniques, incompressible flow simulations, parallel implementations and multigrid convergence acceleration schemes. The overall goal of the research is to simulate large-scale engineering problems computationally using minimal computing resources.
