The Cockrell School of Engineering's aerospace engineering undergraduate program at The University of Texas at Austin is ranked No. 8 in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report's 2018 undergraduate program rankings, affirming the department's position as one of the nation's top aerospace engineering undergraduate programs.

More than 600 undergraduate students are enrolled in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics' aerospace engineering undergraduate program, which offers opportunities for students to become involved with hands-on engineering projects as early as their first year in the program. In fact, over 50% of aerospace engineering students are currently involved with at least one student team or organization. The department also offers undergraduate research opportunities for students to work closely with our world-renowned faculty on innovative research.

The department's aerospace engineering graduate program was also ranked No. 8 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 graduate program rankings earlier this year. Additionally, the aerospace engineering program ranks No. 9 in the Center for World University Rankings, 2017 and was ranked the No. 4 Most Influential Scientific Research Institution in Aerospace from 2004-2014 in the Thomson Reuters State of Innovation Report.
