The University of Texas at Austin’s aerospace engineering undergraduate program has risen to No. 8 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 undergraduate program rankings, strengthening the department's position as one of the nation’s elite aerospace engineering departments.  

Over 600 undergraduate students are enrolled in the Cockrell School’s aerospace engineering undergraduate program. The department offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience as well as undergraduate research opportunities with our world-renowned faculty.

The department’s aerospace engineering graduate program also rose to No. 7 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 graduate program rankings earlier this year. Additionally, according to the Thomson Reuters State of Innovation Report published in 2015, UT Austin was ranked as the 4th most influential research institution in aerospace engineering.

The Cockrell School of Engineering held its position from the previous year as the No. 11 best undergraduate engineering program in the U.S. and No. 6 among U.S. public schools.
