The aerospace engineering graduate program in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin was ranked No. 7 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 graduate program rankings. This is a move up from the previous year’s ranking of No. 8 and affirms the department’s position as one of the elite aerospace engineering graduate programs across the nation.

Aerospace engineering graduate students at the Cockrell School work alongside internationally-recognized faculty to perform world-class research in areas such as astrodynamics, earth and space science, propulsion, energy, robotics, mechanics and computational engineering. Our affiliated research centers provide graduate students a wide range of opportunities for collaborative, interdisciplinary research.

Last fall, the department’s undergraduate program was ranked No. 10 by U.S. News & World Report, making both UT Austin aerospace programs among the top 10 in the nation. Additionally, according to the Thomson Reuters State of Innovation Report published in 2015, UT Austin was ranked as the 4th most influential research institution in aerospace engineering.

The Cockrell School of Engineering retained its rank in the top 10 graduate programs as the No. 10 best graduate program overall.
