Sara Ricke has been selected to receive the Cockrell School of Engineering Staff Excellence Award.

Some comments from her nomination letters include, “She has repeatedly been asked to coordinate major projects outside of the normal scope of her duties and has always responded positively” and “Sara’s combination of energetic cheer and genuine caring has been a tangible and valuable ingredient in maintaining a sense of belonging.” Another colleague wrote, “In short, she’s acting as the department’s morale officer.”

In response to being selected, Ricke said, “I am humbled by this honor and truly blessed to have such wonderful colleagues. Thank you!”

The Cockrell School of Engineering Staff Excellence Award is given each year to six non-teaching personnel who have distinguished themselves and who have contributed significantly to the effectiveness of the teaching, advising, counseling, and research efforts of the Cockrell School.

Sara will be receive a check for $1,000 and will be recognized during a reception in honor of all award recipients.
