He has been invited to visit the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Berkeley with the title Russell Severance Springer Professor for four weeks during the 2006-2007 academic year. As the Chair holder, Professor Demkowicz will present a seminar and participate in teaching during his time spent at Berkeley.

Dr. Demkowicz' research interests include computational acoustics and electromagnetics, hp-adaptive finite and boundary element methods, and applied functional analysis. He has published three books and over 150 technical articles and reports. He recently co-chaired the Eighth U.S. Congress on Computational Mechanics in Austin, Texas in 2005.
