Dr. Cesar Ocampo joined us an Assistant Professor in the Fall 2000 semester. Dr. Ocampo was employed with Hughes Space and Communications Company in Los Angeles as a senior orbital analyst . He was part of the Mission Analysis and Operations section and was involved with mission planning and operations for commercial satellites. He recently lead a software development effort for mission planning and navigation for communications satellites equipped with a xenon-ion propulsion system. He was also the lead trajectory analyst for the recovery of a stranded satellite that used the Moon's gravity for a free return trajectory back to its intended geostationary orbit.
