Dr. Demkowicz' research combines applied mathematics, continuum and structural mechanics and computational methods for partial differential equations with emphasis on finite element and boundary element methods. He has served alternately on the Cockrell School of Engineering faculties at UT and at Cracow University since 1980. Dr. Demkowicz has two years of industrial experience and has published three books and more than 150 technical articles and reports. He has recently co-chaired the Eight U.S. Congress on Computational Mechanics that took place in Austin, on July 24-28, 2005.

His administrative associate is Cayetana Garcia and she can be reached at (512) 471-4676, cay@ices.utexas.edu.

Dr. Demkowicz is affiliated with the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences.
