Houston Area Longhorn Engineering Rendezvous

Our annual Houston Area Longhorn Engineering Rendezvous was once again a huge success this past May. Even with the threatening weather, we had more than 100 UT engineering alumni in attendance. For those that the weather kept away – we missed you.

The reception gave Prof. Philip Varghese, Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics Department Chair, the chance to talk about our faculty’s research in small satellites, GPS security, and computational modeling of everything from water aquifers to the human heart. In addition, the new Department Chair for Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Jayathi Murthy, shared her vision including a focus on robotics, nano-scale engineering, and advanced manufacturing. Capital Area Longhorn Engineering Congress

What a great time we had at the second Capital Area Longhorn Engineering Congress on May 15 at Millennium Engineering & Integration Company. For those of you who attended, we enjoyed reconnecting and reminiscing with you. For those of you who couldn’t make it – we missed you and hope you can make it next time.
