The symposium is a five-day event conducted in the single session format of IUTAM symposia. Participants cover all aspects of foams and cellular materials including: foam processing, foam rheology and drainage, mechanics of microstructured cellular materials and lattices, characterization of foam microstructure using X-ray tomography and other techniques, relationship of elastic and inelastic properties of solid foams to microstructure, dynamic behavior of foams, mechanics of trabecular bone, mechanics of wood and other biological cellular materials, etc. Participation is only by invitation from the co-chairs.

The technical program will start at 8:30am on Monday, May 9 and will be completed by 12:00 noon on Friday, May 13. The symposium participants should aim to arrive in Austin on Sunday, May 8 and plan to depart anytime after 12:00 noon, May 9.
