Jayant Sirohi and PhD candidate Jerome Sicard won the Rotor Dynamics Session best paper award at the 38th European Rotorcraft Forum held in Amsterdam Sept. 4-7, 2012 for their co-authored paper, “Modeling of the Large Deformations of an Extremely Flexible Rotor Blade.” It will be published in a dedicated edition of the Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) Aeronautical Journal.
The paper focuses on research that could revolutionize the use of microhelicopters, which could improve natural disaster response and reconnaissance during US military missions.
