The aerospace engineering undergraduate program in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has risen to No. 8 in the nation in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Additionally, Texas Engineering has been named the No. 11 best undergraduate engineering program (No. 6 among public universities and No. 1 in Texas).
More than 500 students are enrolled in the aerospace engineering undergraduate program at UT Austin’s Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. Our project-based labs and organizations provide students with valuable real-world engineering educational experiences, preparing them for the workforce when they head out to change the world.
Opportunities include performing undergraduate research under the direction of world-renowned faculty, working in the Texas Spacecraft Lab and Texas Rocket Engineering Lab, as well as participating in a wide variety of project-based and leadership student organizations.
