PROFESSIONAL EVENTS

[ ] Bimonthly Meetings $100:
Every other Tuesday throughout each academic semester, UT-AIAA conducts general meetings. Meetings usually include announcements of upcoming branch and departmental events, guest speaker; typically industry representatives, professors, corporate recruiters, or occasionally astronauts; refreshments are provided. Approximately 40 members attend each meeting. As a corporate supporter, your company would have the opportunity to speak at one of our meetings. In addition, your company would be recognized on all meeting advertisements. Meetings will be held during the Spring semester. If you are interested in speaking at one of our Spring meetings please e-mail us with dates you would be available to speak.

[ ] Company Tour $300:
Once a month, AIAA offers its members an opportunity to tour a company's facilities. AIAA will arrange transportation for a maximum of 30 people to visit your facility. Our members are eager to learn more about your company. If a tour of your plant would be possible, please mark below your preferred tour date.

STUDENT PROJECTS

[ ] Design, Build, Fly Competition $100 or _________ (Annual Event):
This time intensive hands-on project will provide aerospace engineering students with the opportunity to use their creative Imagination and engineering knowledge to design and build a radio controlled, electric aircraft. The participants will compete in a national design competition.

[ ] Rube Goldberg Design Team $100 or _________ (Annual Event):
Our AIAA branch is known nation wide for its Rube Goldberg design team. Every year, colleges around the country compete in building an extremely complex and elaborate machine to do a simple task. This is a hand-on project, which uses both engineering knowledge and imagination. This is one of the most popular design contests held at the College of Engineering at UT-Austin as well as at other engineering colleges throughout the country.

SOCIAL EVENTS

A major part of AIAA is to provide a social outlet for the aerospace engineers. These social activities are a great way for AIAA to increase its membership, help aerospace engineering students build lifelong friendships, and encourage networking.

[ ] Movie Night $35:
Every Tuesday night on which a general meeting is not held, AIAA holds a popular event known as Movie Night in which the students can come and watch an entertaining and often aerospace-related film.

[ ] Broomball $250:
Every semester, a team of about 20 AIAA members competes against a team from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in a friendly game of broomball. Broomball is very similar to hockey, but played with ordinary tennis shoes on ice.

[ ] Intramural Sports $6O:
Every semester, a team of approximately 20 AIAA members plays in an intramural sports tournament.
