AIAA Info about Joining / Supporting EventsTo join the local UT-Austin Chapter of AIAA download and print the local membership form, fill it out, and bring it with the fees to the next meeting or to the AIAA office in WRW 102A.What you owe: The local membership fee is $5 per semester, and the national fee is $20 per year. Letter to Prospective SupporterSponsorship OpportunitiesWhat is AIAA?The UT-Austin chapter of the AIAA is a student-run organization aimed at fostering an interest in aeronautics and astronautics and bringing many people with similar interests together. The AIAA totals about 40,000 members world wide and is the largest professional organization dedicated to the progress of engineering and science in aviation and space. Reasons to join: 1.Gives you a reason to go to WRW; hear what's going on in the department 2.Meet upperclassmen and professors 3.Meet each other 4.See cool presentations (aerospace engineers, astronauts, distinguished professors) 5.Go on the field trips (a.k.a. plant tours)- As a member, most trips are paid for b.Fun in the sun (volleyball at the park, picnics and campouts at the lake, bowling with faculty- well, no sun) 7.Broomball against the ME's (nuff said) 8.Eat pizza at every meeting 9.Looks good on a Resume 10.Join exciting engineering projects like DESIGN, BUILD, FLY and RUBE GOLDBERG |
