Our first meeting of the Spring 2004 semester took place on
January 27. Our guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Hans Mark, who
spoke about human exploration of Mars. After giving a brief history
of past proposals to visit Mars, he described a plan that he had helped develop. The plan includes phases for a return to the Moon as well
as a Mars excursion. The plan also
takes advantage of water that is believed to exist inside craters at the Moon's poles
to fuel spacecraft. Dr. Mark included slides showing
the timelines and performance specifications that had been
calculated for the plan.

Membership dues are $5/semester for local membership
and $20/year for national membership |

Movie night will be held on February 2 |

E-Week is scheduled for February 20-27 |
