Prospective Undergraduate Admissions

Admission to our program is handled entirely through the Office of Admissions.  Neither the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics nor the Cockrell School of Engineering has input on the admission decisions for students entering The University of Texas at Austin for the first time.  All admission applications are done online through the Texas Common Application.

To be eligible to apply for freshman admission, you must have or will soon graduate from high school or receive a GED and you must have not enrolled in another college or university after graduating from high school or earning a GED.

To be eligible to apply for transfer admission, you must have graduated from high school or earned a GED and have completed or be currently enrolled in the remaining coursework to earn at least 30 semester hours of transferable credit.

You should apply for international undergraduate admission if you are seeking a bachelor’s degree, you are NOT a U.S. Citizen, you are NOT a permanent resident of the U.S., and you have NEVER attended the University of Texas at Austin.  Admission is only offered to those who will be full-time students seeking degrees.
