This weekend marks the end of a 2-year long development project named the Solar Steer. With the help of faculty sponsor, Dr. Gary Hallock, and generous sponsors, the University of Texas Solar Vehicles Team has designed and built an entry in the longest solar car race in the world. More... Tests of the cars' safety and speed are being conducted this week and the race finally gets underway on Sunday. All the events listed below are free and open to the public. Go, Horns!

The Department of Energy’s North American Solar Challenge for students is held every two years. This year’s race ends July 27. A list of participating teams is online at www.americansolarchallenge.org/index.html, along with race regulations and route information.
