Dr. Schapery retired from the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics in August 2002. He had served on the faculty since 1990. Dr. Schapery specialized in the mechanics of materials, primarily in the development of mathematical modeling of behavior. He published more than 150 technical articles and reports and authored or edited two books.
