Dr. Porter specializes in high temperature gas dynamics, acoustic wave interaction with solid-gas interfaces with adsorption, thermal radiation's effect on reflected shock waves, flow in rocket nozzles with chemical reactions, and unsteady combustion. He has served on the Cockrell School of Engineering faculty since 1964 and has one year of industrial experience.
