Dr. Demkowicz' research combines applied mathematics, continuum mechanics and computational methods for partial differential equations with emphasis on finite element and boundary element methods. He has served alternately on the Cockrell School of Engineering faculties at UT and at Cracow University since 1980. Dr. Demkowicz has two years of industrial experience and has published five books and more than 200 technical articles and reports. Since Jan 2012 he has been Editor-in-Chief of Computers and Mathematics with Applications (Elsevier). He currently serves as the President of the US Association for Computational Mechanics
(USACM).
