1.  The literature search is an important part of performing research.  Perform the following tasks:
        a)  Read the article by Enge provided in class.  You are responsible for the material in the article.
        b)  From an appropriate technical journal or conference proceedings, find an article since 1998 that discusses GPS modernization issues.  Write a 1-page summary of the article including the author's opinions of the changes proposed to the GPS system and the issues of modernization.  Turn in a copy of the article and your summary.
        c) From an appropriate technical journal or conference proceedings, find any article that discusses a topic of research in a GPS-related field that you are interested in.  Think of this as a seed assignment to get you started thinking about possible research project topics that you may perform in this course.  Write a 1-page summary of the article, including the phenomenon you are interested in, the work that was done in the paper, and any questions that you have about the material or topics that may warrant further investigation.  Turn in a copy of the article and your summary.

In b) and c)  you will be graded on i) the quality of the article you selected based on its scope and discussion, and ii) the clarity and accuracy of your summary of what is mentioned in the article.
