VIDEO CAMERA INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANON GL-1



The following steps are for recording the movie (see Figure 2):
- Set the recording program mode to AUTO "A" recommended (see Figure 2).
- Set the camera to record pause mode.
- Slide the MOVIE MODE switch to NORMAL/FRAME.
Note: The NORMAL movie mode is recommended; however, the frame mode can be used when you want to look at video, scene by scene, free from field slippage (the "flicker" that normally occurs when you
pause a video). During playback, pause the video any time you like to view a crystal clear still image in the display or on a connected computer screen.
It is also possible to transfer your favorite still picture to a PC for a image enhancement and print out.
The following steps are for downloading movie files to a PC:
- Connect the DV cable to the PC [E1, E2, E3 in Aerospace LRC (Room # WRW-205)].
- Connect the power cable.
- On PC, under Program go to Dazzle Mainactor software and select it.
- Click in DV-Select.
- Click on the Play Button on the Screen (software).
- Click on the Record Button on the screen to record the portions of the movie need to be recorded.
- Save each file as (filename.avi)
NOTE: Try to minize the movie time, as the (.AVI) formats require lot of hard drive space.
The following steps are for editing (compressing) movie files in a PC:
NOTE: The quality of the movie may degrade a little bit.
- From the Start Button on the Task bar click on Programs.
- Select the QuickTime.
- From the Menu bar click on File
- click on import file
- Browse the movie file saved earlier and select it
- Click on Edit in the Menu bar
- Click on Delet Tracks...
- On the dialog box select the voice track and delete (optional).
- Select File again on Menu bar and click on export
- Click on options...
- Click on settings...
- select Cinepak and quality high and select ok
- Save the file again as .AVI and your file is compressed and ready to use further.
