Bubble Gum, Poodle Skirts, and Fun!  On October 11, 1997, the Austin Humane Society-SPCA held their annual gala and auction, the 50's style "Paw Ball", at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Honorary Chairperson was Loretta Swit of M*A*S*H* fame. A fun time was had by all!

Each year the Humane Society honors individuals or organizations who make our community a better place for people and animals. The UT Campus Cat Coalition was honored for it's innovative "Trap-Neuter-Return" program for controlling the overpopulation of feral cats on the UT campus. In a joint effort with the Humane Society, the Coalition provides a humane solution to the feral cat problem at UT and also provides spay/neuter and pet abandonment education to the student population. It's a great program!
